CFA® PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Administered by CFA Institute, the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) Program is a graduate-level, self-study curriculum and examination program for investment specialists. Established in 1962, the CFA Program sets the global standard for investment knowledge, standards, and ethics. Earning the credential can serve as a passport to entry or advancement within the investment profession around the world. The designation tells clients, employers, and colleagues that the charterholder has mastered a rigorous curriculum covering a broad range of investment topics and that he or she is committed to the highest ethical standards in the profession. Our society encourages its members to earn the CFA charter and supports candidates by sponsoring CFA exam study groups and other programs. Many of our members hold the esteemed CFA designation.

Candidates that are affiliate members of the CFA Society of Iowa are eligible for an exclusive educational opportunity. After you verify membership, you will receive a password to use on the Schweser portal when purchasing services. As a candidate in the CFA program it is important to abide by the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct and dissemination of the password to nonmembers would not be appropriate.

We are often asked if there are study groups for the candidates and as far as we know, there aren't. We are taking a step to assist with study group efforts. We have set up a blog for candidates to join and connect with each other to form study groups. This allows you to have control over the situation and contact each other at your leisure. SCHOLARSHIPS
The CFA Society of Iowa has 10 scholarships which cover all the costs of the exam except $220. The scholarships for calendar year 2010 have been awarded.
